An insurance plan that is either purchased by a home owner or given to a home owner when purchasing a brand new home. Typically, this insurance covers certain items that are expected not to require repairs in the first 5 years (sometimes up to 7 years) after a home is occupied. Items that would usually be covered (make sure you read the small print), would be major issues to the foundation, electrical, plumbing, heating systems or even issues with the drywall.
